Exactly, Champ will be PICKING who we recruit!!
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
Is there an echo in here?
Question what does he bring to the table as a recruiter and recruiting the state of florida....... just a question
Like the hire as an assistant, not sure I want him as an OC eventually
It would still be THIS system, he will learn it from Pease. The Hokies wanted him as an OC, so he's not attrocious by any stretch!
SEC experience and a long offensive resume? Not really aware of any specific ties to Florida, but he knows how the game is played so I imagine there won't really be a difficult transition.
Okay, I'm a UK fan, so let me first congratulate you on a WR coach that's a pretty good recruiter, played the position and is a very good OC. He's just not a good head coach (at this particular point in his career). Joker is an upstanding citizen and recruits will love him.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Future OC. Great hire.
Cant wait to. See what he can do with our WR.
Luke will you be getting recruit reactions?
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
Perfect. Thanks for your input.
I am pretty ignorant when it comes to Joker Phillips. All I know of him is his lack of success at Kentucky. It sounds like people who know MUCH more than I do believe this to be a good hire, so that works for me. Can someone help me out, though? I understand Kentucky is terrible and is a basketball school, so football talent was never there. I understand the perks of having a former head coach as an assistant. He doesn't strike me as a recruiting powerhouse, but I think it can be spun in a positive way that a former HC is now our WR coach. I guess what I am asking is to fill me in on this guy. Liek I said, I am just ignorant on anything JP related beyond Kentucky. TIA
Okay, first, there IS talent on the football team - talent that Joker was responsible for bringing in. There are young WR that are very, very good. (DeMarcus Sweat, Daryl Collins, Aj Legree, etc) - Joker is a HELL of a recruiter, responsible for quite a bit of the players that are currently in the program now. When he was the WR coach for UK, he recruited his ass off. When he was promoted to the OC, he recruited his ass off. When he became the Head Coach, he recruited, and brought in younger coaches that were decent recruiters ( I won't get into that as it's a long ass story )
Take it for what it's worth, but you have a hell of a WR coach.
We're not hiring him to be a head coach. The fact he failed miserably in that capacity isn't that relevant here, so I think you need to look past that.
Goons belong in hockey.
This is great!

Is this real life? I no longer hate Mondays now! Great hire!
I'd prefer keeping Pease
