Just wondering if anyone knows how Powell is doing? Will he be able to go for the Spring game again?
He's undergone Cyborg training, and will be unleashed on the SEC in September.
Seriously, I know he has matured a ton and I wouldn't count him out at all. He has Peterson as his motivation to come back better than ever. I think he will play the Buck and tear it up, or move to LB and tear it up. would personally love to see him at the Mike LB position, because he can cover too and has great length. He would sit in the middle and bait QB's like Spikes used to do. I kind of wish we put him at TE. He was a monster their in HS, when he got the chance, and did it at the Army game and caught a TD in the back of the end zone! Physical freak of nature.

He's out for spring
I just hope he is ingesting large amounts of deer urine.
Tear it up is the wrong phrase
Powell's out for the spring. May be able to do some non-contact work if he's lucky, but he's not playing in pads this spring.

he had a major setback / second surgery so comparisons to AP unfortunately are way off....no doctor so no idea what having a re-tear or re-injury means towards a kid having a legit shot at coming back as strong if not stronger than before
appears they are taking it super slow as he had the 2nd surgery towards end of October....holding him out Spring seems prudent given only 5-6 mths removed from surgery....appears by Aug he will be 8-9 mths removed from 2nd surgery
so if surgery #2 went well / rehab goes the course he will be rounding into game shape / ready to go by Aug/Sept
cray he will be a Rs Jr next yr and then still likely be here in 2014 campaign as a Rs Sr -- cant imagine 2013 campaign will be his showcase yr given the extent of the injury and will take him another 1yr+ to get back to peak form / health/strength
From Oct 2012 UF release:
Florida issued a statement saying Powell had a “revision” on the injury and offered no other details.
“He had a little bit of a repair on the tear,” Gators coach Will Muschamp said. “Should be fine.”
Powell originally injured his knee in the spring game, and Muschamp was optimistic he would play at some point this season. The initial recovery estimates indicate he might have been back right around now. Instead, he will miss the season and attempt to return in 2013 as a red-shirt junior.
This is at least his second setback. A month ago he reinjured his knee while rehabilitating it, and Muschamp said “as accelerated as his rehab has gone, talking to him this morning and his parents throughout the weekend, more than likely Ronald will red-shirt this year.
