He seems like the type Boom wants
Did we make a mistake
Time will tell
Probably. Dude is gonna be a beast somewhere on the field if it's not RB.
He is NOT the type Boom wants.
"I'll turn my back on a five-star guy if he isn't a good guy, I have zero reservations about that. ZERO reservations. You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
Florida has taken or is involved with guys who are bigger character risks than Derrick Henry. That may be the reason Florida didn't take him, but it doesn't hold much water for me.

Are you familiar with the reason why the did not take him? It is not a broad "character risk" evaluation it is specific actions that took place.
Im curious to who you think has bigger character risks than Henry. Couple guys have red flags but nothing egregious has been done by them.
there is no character concern for this kid at all he's a great kid 100%
just not the natural rb we want like KT is id guess we did like henry tho we worked on flippin him from uga till lane and kt commited i think
I'm aware of what's been reported. I'm just saying I don't think that's the sole reason Florida didn't push real hard for Henry. I think the Gators were also very comfortable with their running back class once Lane and Taylor were on board.
As we should be. KT looked like the better RB when they both played, according to everything I saw and what was said by the media.
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
Allegedly.... when on a UF visit was rooting for the other team, was derogatory to the female hostess, and then when confronted on it said he could do what he wanted because he was the nations top recriot.
Maybe, but I would give the benefit of the doubt to the coaches when it comes to character. They talk to these kids every week. We...don't.
Totally agree. My point was that there were more than just character reasons to back off of Henry, IMO.
that might be the case, character issues, and I understand
He looked very good in the game that he played Taylor the recruit
travis stated he is a good kid
I have no idea
Just bringing this questions for discussion
He's been to my house with John Theus several times. Theus is my sons close friend. Henry is al about himself. Glad he is not a Gator!
Allegedly did the exact same thing in Knoxville as well. Only worse.
He bailed on John Theus. They both committed to UGA together

I'm a bama fan so please don't burn me..but Adam lane is the most underrated player in this year's class imo..kid is gonna be a star..my son played with Adam and talks about how hard he works..and all the young men on his team loved hm..great kid..
Thanks, Bama bro. Good luck on Monday. +1
JK. Thanks for sharing.
We couldn't take a chance on a kid in this class, if he didn't work out how would our depth chart look? If he was in the 2014 class you take that chance JMO
I think we forget sometimes that Alabama and Florida both had Taylor as their first choice, not Henry, and we won that battle.
time will tell, but Henry does not look quick when he runs, just big. I suspect he will be good, but maybe not at RB.
Just my opinion.
Was Taylor the first guy on the board? Lane committed a loooong time before.
