Put together a College world series, final four appearance, and a BCS bowl in same sports season? I think we have a decent shot at all three this upcoming season. Baseball we still have a great pitching staff and Sullivan has basically made us a yearly world series appearance team now with the great work he's done. Final four is always difficult cause one bad game can end it but Donovan is a great tourney coach and after two elite eight appearences this team is tired of falling short. We've kept the offense and added the best defense in the country....good luck knocking us out before we get into the final four. BCS bowl may be back to expectation the way Muschamp has football looking back to the elite level after a few bad years. Driskel having a year as well as Humpries getting a full offseason and adding Tyler Moore should help the horrible tackle play. Defense will be nasty as usual under Muschamp.
I feel good about this year in Gator sports...not even including tennis or golf or lacrosse or softball or swimming or soccer...cause then the potiential of Foley's beast of the east gets scary.
Oh...maybe I should have put these up for vote first..but I'm now refering to our sports program as the beast of the east. Anyone else digging it?
That's a really good question, I honestly don't know, I do know there are schools that win a title in football, bball and baseball but not sure if anyone has done it in the same year. We have won football and bball in are year

I wasn't saying win all three but make the final four, cws, and a BCS. While winning all three is possible though unlikely, that would be the greatest year in sports any University has had. We'd get a few other titles in Woman's sports like lacrosse or tennis as well too just to add icing on the cake. I have to feel confident we win one of the three major titles within the next two years though. No program has a better list of coaching right now in all three sports I'm damn sure of that.
I think Texas came really close in 05-06. Won the BCS, won the CWS, and I think got bounced in the elite 8. Florida has also come pretty close, and put up some great seasons close together. CWS in 2005, BCS in 2006, and NCAAB champ in 2006.
I remember us getting very close. Wasn't Durant on that Texas basketball team? I'm pretty sure cause the argument was him or Oden who Noah and Horford raped all title game for number 1.
Yes, and they couldn't get to the Sweet Sixteen WITH him but ended up in the Elite Eight the year before and the year after.
Rick Barnes makes no sense.

Florida's ONLY won the NC in the two most followed collegiate sports (Football and Basketball) in the same year. That's been done once ever and is a much bigger accomplishment than making a CWS, BCS bowl, and Final-Four in the same year. History primarily focuses on is who wins championships. The ONLY way to top what Florida did was win titles in football, basketball, AND baseball in the same year. Those odds would be mind blowing.
