Kentucky just announced Archie Goodwin will head to the NBA Draft but Willie Cauley-Stein and Kyle Wiltjer will both be back next year. Kentucky's going to be loaded. Sheesh.
No announcement on Poythress yet, presumably still deciding.

I consistently tell people that Terrance Jones, Darius Miller and Doron Lamb made the difference for them in their title run, that experience makes a huge difference than trying to depend on a lot of freshman. With the infusion of talent at forward i dont expect Poythress to hang around but if he does leave its an NBA bench he will live on or be prepping for D-League.
Is Noel still heading to the draft after the injury?
Harrow also leaving although that is not big news.
I haven't seen anything official, but I'd assume so.
WCS is the anti-PY...kid needs to take the nba money while he's rated a Top 15 pick in most Mock boards. if he comes back and gets hurt or have a subpar yeah he could drop into the 2nd round. Jared Sullinger was a sure fire lottery kid but dropped down into the 20's bc he stayed in college an extra year.
Goodwin is a great example of the problem with signing with UK. He had to either transfer or go pro. Minutes were not going to be there next year.
Wow cannot believe WCS returning, not sure he is going to show much more on offense to get into high lotto in a stacked 2014 draft vs now where he is a solid top 25 pick
Calimari, just like terrance jones did his best sales job keeping WCS. Kid will anchor 5 spot with frosh surrounding him imo
Surprised wiltjer didn't transfer, couldn't see court with less than great players this year, not sure he doesn't see even less min with BETTER 3/4 talent next yr
A player like WCS would have helped Florida a ton this year he's 10x better than Patric Young.
As far as Wiltjer goes, his upside long-term is probably limited wherever he goes. At best, he's a bench guy in the NBA. Why not stay and try to win a national title?
I know this is OT but what happend with Kaji(?) while he was playing for UF? Never really got the "inside" story on the transfer.
Yeah that's very OT
If by "win" you mean avg 5-7min a game and not sniff court last 15 of a game, then yes wiljter shud stay to win a 'ship lol
Guys like marc lee, dakari, proythress, j young won't play more than 10-15 min max as harrisons, wiggins, j randle, WCS should avg 25-30 min per game and def be guys on court for last 7-10 min of game
Wonder whether the "backups" realized what they signed up for. Maybe they all are supremely confident in their abilities that think will win starting role
HUGE for UK if WCS returns as none of their 2013 class is really a 5....Goodwin would not have played ahead of the kids coming in and is projected as a 1st rd pick, so good decision....really was hoping WCS would go pro....with another offseason he will be VERY good next season IMO
Didn't want to start a thread about it...just wondering what happened with our need for bigs and his sudden success at UM. Couple of mocks from NBA guys have him being a 1st round pick.
Dakari is a 5 little buddy , but WCS coming back would be huge. I still like Arkansas in the SEC next year if the keep everybody , the recruiting class is just what the doctor ordered
Yea agree unfort B33 , wcs staying hurts as he is beast and will anchor that frontline, best recruiting job calimari has done keeping him ...he is better than PY and harris, we needed the 5 spot to be an advantage for us vs sUK next year, now it is not
Arky will suck bj young and someone else (powell?) Have declared early for draft already
So what position will Dakari Johnson play next year? If he is more of a 4, definitely not playing before Randle or Lee
I still contend this will be the downfall of Calipari's current recruiting tactics. He is selling kids playing time, starting, and then nba after 1 year. Not enough minutes to go aroun, once players don'g go pro. Who is gonna be happy getting less minutes, The Twins, Randle, Lee, Young, WCS, Poythress, Wiggins if they are able to land him, Wiltjer, Johnson? He wil still get good players, but not like we have seen these past 3-4 years.
I think the story is that he had a bad back and was kind if lazy here. Billy always gives a really frank convo on what he'd have to get more play time, and with Macklin and Young coming in, I guess he thought a change of scenery would be better for him.
Dakari is not playing much next season...but yeah he is a 5...kind of forgot about him lol...too many studs headed to UK to keep track of lol
It's called pine...
1 - Harrison
2 - Harrison
3 - [Wiggins]
4 - Randle
5 - Cauley-Stein
1 - Polson
2 - Young
3 - Poythress
4 - Lee
5 - Dakari
Then have Wiltjer and the seventh/eighth freshman, the PF from KY
Season just ended and we already have our first "we are scared of big-bad Kentucky" thread.
UK has 7 coming in so far, and prob going to be an 8th with wiggins. They have 2 seniors, and Harrow leaving. That means 5 more from the current roster have to leave. So Noel and AP going pro as well still leave 3 more. Who are they going to be?
