Don't sleep on these guys at LB, I remember Gideon in the spring game and he was all over the field. Also JP has been Scout POW several times. The other one I think is gonna make an impact is Alex McCalister, he is a freak athlete, and also was Scout POW several times. Huge wingspan, big ups, and just a terror off the edge. He needs a little more weight, but if he can get to 245 + this offseason then I think he'll surprise us all.
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
Who is Jeremy Powell? Don't see him on the roster.
OLB from St Pete.
UF...ASSOC OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES MEMBER...3-TIME FOOTBALL NATL CHAMPION..2-TIME BASKETBALL NATL CHAMPION..31 ATHLETIC NATL CHAMPIONSHIPS!
IDK about Ajagbe. He might be a candidate for processing. He's been here a little while now and he hasn't really climbed the depth chart any.
And I think Powell getting 245 is optimistic. But I'd like to see him at least be a ST contributor this year while playing about 215 lbs.
Ajagbe had a season-ending injury before the first game. Not sure I would write the kid off. Heck of an athlete.
I was talking about McCalister getting to 245+, Powell would be lucky to ever see 220, IMO.
yea gideon and powell seem like LB that would DESTROY slow10 but not SEC ball IMO....guys dont have the thickness to take down SEC RBs....they'd be bouncing off eddie lacey like ND LBers IMO
worry about LB crew....got so much out of McCray / Bostic / Jelani this past yr IMO -- guys were BEASTS coming downhill
really need RoPo as a Rs JR to take his game to another level -- needs to play like that #1 recruit 5* Jarvis Jones / Jadavean Clowney type force (low prob) + Bullard / Fowler need to play like top 3 Rd D-ends as true Sophs (decent chance)
IMO Morrison brings the ruckus coming down hill but still not a big guy, Mike Taylor has shown he is a SEC rotation guy...Neiron Ball/Kitchens need to step up.....man scares me thinking about drop off from losing Bostic/McCray/Jenkins
dont want any of the frosh seeing the field outside of special teams and mop up duty...no way no how is a frosh LB going to be ready to contribute in the SEC...no examples of it unless a guy an uber recruit that looks like he belongs on an NFL team coming out of HS (Clowney)
Choppa Dan could be that good. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him perform as well, if not better, than Morrison did this past season.
Plus he is an EE and can add 5-10 pounds before August.
You just said how good Morrison as a freshman now you don't want any freshman to play? I think Mcmillin will be just as good as Morrison was this year if not better
I like McMillan too, but I think people forgot how big Gideon is. He's 6'3" and about 230. Don't tell me he can't play LB, he was doing pretty dang good in the spring game, like Gorman and Morrison. If they can get the weight on Morrison I think he could be our Mike LB. He might be without gaining much weight, because he hits like a freight train.
In before Dundee calls this thread useless.
I was gonna post the same.... I agree
Beatings will continue until morale improves
I hammond this post
What was Ajagbe season-ending injury ? I missed this.
I forgot honestly, I think it happened in Fall camp. He was lighting it up, and at 6'3" 230, we need him!!
I can't find it, but he was repping at the Sam, and one of the players said they thought he could start at BUCK last season, which surprised everybody. He is from Miami, very fast, and big. I think he's a difference maker, if healthy. Go back and look at the spring game, he flashes quite a bit.
24/7 said he was sporting a heavy brace on his left knee, back in September.
