...as expected, the Gators fall just outside the Top 10 this week.

That's fairly ridiculous, IMO.
Tough loss on the road in Tenn with a 6 man rotation then beat a good bama team by double digits at home = 3 spots down?
Other teams have BAD losses and don't get punished like this.
We lost to an un-ranked team. Not thrilled, but expected.
So did Duke
Michigan got beat by the worst team in the Big 10. How far did they drop?
we are splitting games...i don't disagree with the ranking...i think our talent should be ranked higher...but we lose one win one...we need to get some continuity back and win a couple games in a row...
Not much love/respect for the SEC this year, it appears. Can you really blame them? Oh well, it'll all sort itself out come tournament time.

As I said, Michigan lost to PSU last week -- a team that hadn't won a conference game all year -- so where did they drop? They beat MSU, but honestly I think the Big 10 isn't really as strong as people make them out to be.
ACC is Duke and Miami then a whole lot of average to nothing much like Florida and Mizzou with the SEC.
There is no dominant squad or dominant conference, IMO, so treating them with kid gloves while we get abused for losses isn't fair. We had a freakin 6 man rotation with a tough road game and barely lost so we drop 3 spots? Come on.
Billy's here. Talking about senior night. He said the three seniors have meant a lot to the program. Boynton could have gone just about anywhere in the country, but he chose to play at Florida. Still remembers him having a great game against BYU in the Sweet 16 two years ago. Was part of an SEC championship in his sophomore year. Will leave as one of the all-time leading scorers. Donovan loves coaching him.
Murphy, Donovan played against his dad in college. Was cool to be able to recruit him. Wasn't able to play much his first two years, had the sophomore arrest then turned into one of the best bigs in the country.
Rosario coming in as a McDonald's All-American struggling, then turning things around and becoming a great player this year.
Donovan said both Murphy and Boynton will get to be a part of two SEC titles, which he said he's not sure has ever happened here.
Florida will be right around number 7 or 8 get a number 2 seed I'm happy and the tournament will sort itself out on match ups then it comes down to experience and coaching which bodes well for the guys in orange and blue
In terms of Murphy being a matchup problem, he forces teams to move abnormally -- normally they rotate big to big. With Murphy, if you're not rotating to a three-point shooter, you have to get all the way out there quickly on him. He can shoot it over the top real quickly. Said there aren't a lot of guys walking around out there who can do what Murphy does.
Biggest thing for Murphy this year is he has done more around the basket. Well-balanced offensive player.
Donovan said Murphy will "definitely have a chance" in the NBA based on his skill-set. "He's a problem" if he's playing with a really good point guard and you're playing pick and roll. Personally, I see him as a less athletic version of David West. Deadly jump shooter off the pick and roll.
Donovan said the team's playing for a lot on Wednesday -- winning a championship outright is always special. But playing better is important because after this game they're in one-and-done situations the rest of the year.
Donovan: "Our team is not full strength and we are not where we were."
Neither Yeguete or Frazier played great Saturday. Gave a few guys extra minutes rest, but they still have to get these guys playing better again. They have to play better than they did for 28 minutes against Alabama.
Donovan said there's absolutely a correlation between the ball movement and the three-point shooting. Donovan doesn't place a lot of blame on Wilbekin either. The off-ball movement into open areas was not good against Alabama.
Murphy needs to quit disappearing in tough road games to be counted as formidable.

Donovan said it's an awareness. It's about understanding spots on the floor to get open shots and recognizing those spots and getting to them. They have had too much ball-watching lately instead of moving off the ball. They're not an iso team where they can just give a guy the ball and watch him work.
Donovan: "There are no lottery picks on our team."
Florida has been good defending collectively and moving the ball collectively. Talent won't overwhelm you by letting a guy go one-on-one.
Donovan said Rosario was fine after being benched Saturday. Had a ton of energy on the bench and was cheering his teammates on and everything. Monday and Tuesday, if he works hard at practice, he'll start against Vanderbilt. He was very positive on the bench and extremely happy after the game.
Said he has really, really grown in his three years here. He has "come a long, long way. I'm proud of the progress that he has made as a player." Donovan said he wouldn't even remotely be in a position last year to do what he's done this year.
They can rely on him now. Leading them in scoring, shooting a high percentage, trying to do all the right things.
Donovan said one of the things he didn't do a good job of was getting them focused and energized to play the game. Florida pressed a little too much knowing what was on the line. Donovan also said there was a bit of a human element with the guys returning to the floor where the guys that had been playing kind of stepped back a little to let the guys coming off injury step back into their roles.
Tried to warn them that they couldn't do that because they're not the same players they were before the injuries. Whatever it was, they weren't ready to handle that.
Donovan said one of the toughest things for him this year is he's had to change the plan of attack every two to three games because they lose a new player.
Donovan said Yeguete was really nervous and uptight and concerned playing Saturday. He thinks that was mostly just because he hadn't played or practiced much and the team was playing for first-place in the SEC. Felt a lot of pressure in his return. Thinks he'll get back to where he needs to be.
Donovan asked if he thinks there's much of a difference between a 1 and 3 seed. He said last year he thought they were underseeded at 7, and then Missouri ended up getting knocked out.
At the end of the day, you have to get prepared to play and ready to go. Said they've just got to go out and play regardless of what the number is next to the game.
Donovan said he's not sure what the deal with Frazier was. Left practice Thursday with back spasms, didn't practice with contact on Friday. He probably wasn't ready to play on Saturday.
Donovan said Kevin Stallings is a terrific coach. Said they take over 40 percent of their shots from behind the arc, which can be dangerous. "Defending them will be an incredible challenge."
Compares them to Air Force, where they space the floor and shoot the three a lot. Said Florida had a tough time with Air Force. Going to really have to focus on shutting down the three.
Donovan asked about winning two league titles in three years. Said it's more about the team. It's a big accomplishment because it's not easy to sustain that level of success during an entire season. These guys are the only guys who have been a part of two outright SEC titles in their time at Florida -- assuming Florida takes care of business.
Donovan said there hasn't been much depth in the backcourt because the injuries have forced the guards to play a lot of three and even some four. So they've absorbed a lot of minutes. They'll be better off having everyone back in practice. Specifically mentioned Damontre Harris being back helping Pat Young get prepared.
Have to be careful from repping too much in practice when you need your legs and you need your team healthy for the stretch run.
Does ranking factor into seeding?
