Justin Gatlin won the 100 meters at 9.80. Demps finished seventh at a disappointing 10.27. He got off to a so-so start and just didn't have the burst at the midway point when the pack began separating.

Do you think Demps will ever be Olympic material? I know he is the 7th fastest person in America, but do you ever see him getting to the top and being able to qualify in the future?
got off to a horrible start, feel bad for the kid -- true Gator Great through and through
got to be tough to transition from football to track in 5-6 mths and make Olympic team
BUT ....that said , got to think if Rainey is getting NFL money , Demps may be better served making the switch back to football and see if he can grind out a 4-5 yr NFL career and get paid....just not sure at his size see him being a sub 9.9 guy which is what is needed to be an elite International track star and get paid the big big bucks
He ran a 10.1 in qualifying earlier in the day to qualify in 4th. Sounds like either had a bad star or pulled up.
He got the bad start and that was the problem. I think the time away with the hamstring pull didn't help his chances at all.
Bad start and no finishing kick for Demps. Feel bad for the kid. That injury cost him some really valuable training time.
