hot damn ,, dont know why i stumbled on this but worth a watch again
Check out Florida bound super athletic forward, 6'10" Chris Walker dominating the AAU scene this summer. Walker is an extremely mobile big, who runs the floor well and is extremely active and dangerous around the rim on both ends of the floor. He's a great shot blocker with great timing, he rebounds very well, gets a lot of put backs and dunks everything around the rim. Special thanks to GetBucketz.com

Didnt know he had handles like that. Just as good going left or right. He's 1 and done talent for sure. What a freak.. Is this the most gifted big we've ever signed out of hs? Has to be.
Definitely the most gifted. Interested to see how he transitions to the next level, competition, coaching, etc. Sky is the limit for him.
def has the talent to be a one and done.
I dont see Walker starting next year and most likely getting 20 minutes a night or so as a frosh and averaging maybe around 7pts. 4rbs and 2 blocks a game and here is why:
this is assuming Young comes back for his senior year and we dont get randle:
We will have Harris backing up Young at the 5 and Young getting 25 minutes and Harris getting 15 minutes. At the 4, Donovan will start Wil Yeguette. and he will receive 20 minutes a game while Walker gets the other 20. I would rather Walker start and Yeguette be our 6th man ( he is great at coming off the bench and provides our team will instant rebounding and energy) but knowing Donovan's commitment to senior i see him rewarding Wil and starting him
Imagine: Wilbekin, Hill, DFS, Will, and Young! with a deep and talented bench!
In this scenario, Walker will still be a lotto pick based on potential but i could see him staying two years and being a complete stud during his sophomore year. Walker is very raw and may not be ready to take over and score consistently during his freshman year.
I'm sorry but a player like Chris Walker HAS to start. You'd have to bring Will off the bench. Still play him big minutes. But Walker is head and shoulders above Yegeute talent wise.
You do know that UF plays basketball right, not talent? I tend to think Yeguete will start too.
It is entertaining to already start talking about next years starting lineup when you don't know who we'll sign in the Spring -if we sign anyone else at all or if Pat returns & if all the players stay or some transfer.
A good source who is well connected in the recruiting circles in Fla AAU said we should keep an eye on Demetrius Henry (6'9'') who plays ball in the greater Miami HS circuit. Reports say he's improved to the point where Fla. has started looking at him a bit more serious now.
Maybe the coaches feel they need a backup plan for Randle & they are positioning themselves for a shot at Henry, I don't know.
Also, in Randle's last interview, he says he's almost ready to commit & end the process. IMO, & it's just a guess on my part, if a certain player decides he returns to play at UF next year, this might be the key that pushes Randle to come to Fla. & a piece to a puzzle that puts Fla in a very rare Elite league by itself with regards to primetime talent next year.
Enough daydreaming guys - that's a discussion we can have later! As TIG says, we have a big game tonight - let's enjoy the run we're on now & the spectacular season we're getting to enjoy. Not many on here envisioned this back in the fall!
FYI, Kasey Hill is in Gainesville all day today & will attend the game tonight to support his future team mates. Hear he can hardly wait to be a Gator!!
Let's make a statement tonight with a big beat down & serve notice to the rest of the SEC what's in store the last half of SEC play & heading into the tourneys! How can you not be excited about Gator Basketball this season??
Great post Jeff!! Let's gooo!
Walker and Hill should both start next season without a doubt!!
Is Chris a lefty?
This is the most unexpected season I can remember. I expected a big dropoff and a Top 20-25 level team, not this. If we dominate Ole Miss tonight, man oh man!
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
I think he's a righty, but could be wrong. Saw him play a couple of times last summer & I recall seeing him shoot with his right. I almost always remembers lefties. But he can go to the left with ease. Very skilled player - freak athlete'' for his size!
yeah, he is very skilled with his left which is surprising for a big and a hs kid
Saw D Henry last yr some....think kid is way underrated....he is a bulll -- poor many Udonis Haslem type....kid plays very hard and IMO will be a nice 4yr role player for any top caliber team in country at a minimum....very natural rebounder and guy not afraid to mix it up in paint
interesting/positive to hear the addtl prep yr or whatever he is doing this yr is benefiting him
Final Four this year and next IMO
Your starting five next year will be walker at point, dfs at two, randle as the three, patric at four and harris at center. Call it a block party
Ohhh let's doooo it
ooorrrannngeeee and bluuueee it
It's going to be interesting to see what lineup Billy D is going to use next year. 3 guards and 2 fowards? 2 guards and 3 forwards? Is he going to try and keep a shooting team like this year or be more of a post team and a team that gets it in the paint like the 06 team? He is going to have a lot of options to play with. I want to see MFII start next year! I haven't seen a 3 point shooter like that since Lee Humphrey!
Its not going to really matter who starts next year cause we'll have at least 9-10 guys getting significant minutes. Opposing teams are REALLY going to hate playing the Gators. With this kind of talent/depth Billy will orchestrate a game plan that will wear down opponents and our press and fast break will destroy them especially late in games.
not a chance in hell Donovan doesn't start his stud Freshman big. Too many people watching to not start Chris. That's a death sentence for top recruits...
Donovan is going to play whoever the best player is. If it's close, I can see him going with Walker because it will help him develop faster.
I'm pretty sure Harvey didn't start and he was the #1 recruit.
I actually kind of like the idea of walker not starting (at least at first) because I'm kind of worried he thinks he is going to dominate from day 1 and doesn't realize the amount of hard work he will need to put him. My opinion might be completely unfounded though, but that's the impression I get when reading his interviews.
One of the most physically talented basketball players I have ever seen. Special.
Originally Harvey did start. He supposedly lost his spot after he went home over winter break due to homesickness

Hey don't think about going after Henry! He's Texas' back-up option if Randle goes elsewhere.
But Randle probably won't go elsewhere.
Harvey did not start against FSU or the first two games in Maui that year. He did then start 3rd game in Maui. He started from then to the beginning of the SEC season. Then he came off the bench. Perhaps the winter break was over New Years as UF played on the 30th of Dec and then not again until Vandy on 5 Jan and in the Vandy game Harvey only played one minute.
Here is the link:
and you can see which games Harvey started by clicking on the box scores for each game.
Well with the season we're having and the one Kansas is having, it's really upon the air. I could see it going either way...
