looks to be a touch taller than Amar'e...total beast must be 6 10" at least now insane if gets up/over 6 11"
no doubt he is a special talent....hopefully its in O&B and not at sUK or KU etc
I'm going with Franz on this one. CW would be out of his mind not to hoop with Kasey in college. It'll likely only be for 1 wherever he goes but with the squad we are quietly assembling my bet is he's a Gator. I've seen multiple tweets from him saying "good vibes in gville". Plus Brad's showing that you can be a top 5 pick playing for Billy

Amare lookin as if he's happy to b in da pic CW instead of the other way round lol...also look at da length of CW arms compared to amare
Hope so! Btw coaches don't make top 5 picks . Top 5 talent makes top 5 talent . Coaches / bad systems can get in way of showcasing talent no question ....but everyone of caliparis lotto picks were lotto picks no matter where they went to school IMO
He is Garnett part 2 if he stays on the right path.....freakiest talent we have ever recruited under BD
Bullis what about Donnell Harvey and Kwane Brown?? Harvey came to UF and Brown didn't but still would have been a Gator.
neither of those guys was on Chris level as far as athleticism, length, skill, and upside....
Yeah if C. Walker is really 6'10, well Harvey measured 6'7.25" so it is hard to compare the two. Harvey maybe was as athletic but a 6'7" guy usually is more athletic than a 6'10" guy. Now Brown measured 6'10" so he is a better comp. BTW, Stoudemire measured 6'8.5".
I agree. But its nice to have Brad as proof that a talented freshman with top 5 potential won't get underused and possibly hurt his draft status in BD's system
there are some rumblings on BD's use of Beal for better or worse by NBA scouts....given Brad shot poorly from 3 all year scouts wonder if it is due to fact Beal had to play the 3 mostly / didnt have an elite penetrating/kick out PG to allow him to get clean 3s in rhythm (which will be how he is best utilized in NBA vs trying to create his own shot off the bounce IMO)
the good thing as far as I see it for C Walker is that BD can credibly show him that he wont be the focal point of any defensive effort and thus "expose" him in his 1 and done campaign as BD has the #1 PG in NATION / his good AAU friend / monster creator /passer for others locked up to lead the attack....We have 3 pt shooters on wing w/ Frazier/DG
AND also of great import -- with DH and DFS have 2 elite upper class/more developed bigs to go along with him who can run the court, create havoc for opposition on their own and thus make CWs life that much easier + guys to bang with in practice to get better
that is the sUK sell IMO to elite recruits (beyond WWW/Nike/booster money of course)-- guys like MKG have no business being discussed as top 4 picks....guy was viewed as a clear 2-3 yr college kid coming out of HS and objectively if look at what he did at sUK, he just did what he did in HS well....he didnt show any improvements on his primary weakness (zero jumpshot / horrible mechanics) yet here he is sitting at a virtual top 5 lotto pick lock due to IMO fact he was surrounded by great talent that made everyone on the team look better than they really are....rising tide lifts all boats IMO
I think BD can now sell the remaining elite 1 and done type 2013 recruits on the UF board on the notion that their path to NBA just got easier by having superior players at other spots on roster IMO
I know a good many NBA people, none of them think BD hurt Brad at all...in fact they give him major props for Beal's late season surge as BD stayed on Brad ALL SEASON to be more assertive and take over games, shoot more, etc.....I don't pay attention to what internet scuttlebutt/message boards/wanna be NBA peopl at ESPN and the like speculate.....
With Hill committed, the transfers coming in and who we have coming back I would go out on a limb and call CW the most important recruit Billy has ever been after. The addition of this young man could be the difference between crystal and no crystal. Yes I have bought into the hype.
While every Tom, Dick and Harry says Young will move on what if he stayed and we picked up Walker?
Hey I can dream.......... Maybe Young will want a ring........
Getting a high caliber 4 is really important if you look at the current 2013-14 depth chart in order of class:
PG: Wilbekin, Ogbueze, Hill
SG: Frazier, Graham
SF: Prather, Finney-Smith, D.Walker
C: Young, Harris, Larson
I am one of your "every" and do not expect Young to really be he, but he is as of now. Clearly what is needed is a 4. C. Walker would certainly fit the bill. Another that would fit the bill would be the leading scorer on the USA under 18 team that Donovan just coached. Prior to being on this team Randle did not mention UF. I wonder if he might now want to take a look at what UF has to offer?
Randle shaping up as a big boy fight ...would be surprised if UF could get into the game this late in process but who knows
UNC, sUK, KU battling the homestate horns and baylor programs for him IMO..
C Walker, C Walker and C Walker are a must get at the 4 spot....here's hopin and prayin BD/K Hill reel in the big fish!
I think in our offense though, u dont need a true post 4...guys like DFS/Prather can play some minutes there IMO with small ball where we try to run the other team till they puke if have to...certainly not ideal but possible
J Lawrence is another name IMO that would be an amazing fit for us based on his film/length/athleticism and all around developing game
We're in the game!
Unless Randle hated playing for Donovan, he would almost have to consider UF. Unlike KU, Duke, UNC, UTx, he knows what it is like playing for Donovan and he had success playing for Donovan. Additionally he has seen Donovan pick him and play him over older guys.
Those are some of the areas of most uncertainty for a recruit. That he has more information about playing for UF than any place else may be a huge factor.

Could you imagine a class with Kasey Hill, Julius Randle, and Chris Walker? WOW
Indeedy. Very much in the game, in fact.

No way we sign Walker and Randle IMO. I have NO inside info, but that would be to good to be true!

Patience Grasshopper. Working on it as we speak, but a couple of serious basketball recruiting insiders tell me that JR and BD were -- in the immortal words of that all-time Bama great Forrest Gump -- like peas and carrots.
To answer Magill's question: Could Randle and Walker play together? Absolutely. Their games are total complements.
Now, getting both of them to sign is the task. Gator fans should feel very good and confident without being cocky about Walker. Randle is going to be a task to land, but there is a foot in the door and right now a foot in the door is a very good thing considering the Gators weren't even a blip on the radar back on June 1.
If Billy is able to land Randle then UF's 2013 basketball class is going to be better then the 2013 football class, and that's saying something! It would almost be too good to be true.
A foot in the door is all I can ask for. Thanks, Franz.
I'm struggling to wrap my head around this re Randle ....struggle to believe it as anything more than wishful thinking post a "magical" u17 run
Just can't see UF making up 2 yrs of lost ground over a 2 week team setting
Hope this doesn't take 110% of staffs focus from Chris Walker ...too painful thinking about last yr where staff was spreading the love around too thin and we missed on everybody
Let's lock up the FLORIDA boy we got in our backyard !!!
