Smokin' 40 time of 4.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash by former Florida LB Jon Bostic just now. Gators are showing out (or should it be "showing up?") at the combine.

Totally whiffed on this one in the "Guess their 40 times" thread. Had him at 4.76. Let's see what it comes in as officially.

Good news. Where is he projected to be drafted?
4th round might shoot him up to 3rd or maybe low 2nd round
Right now, he's tied for the fastest unofficial 40 among the linebackers. Not quite through the first rotation through.
Wow that's great news
me too. I would have bet anything that Bostic wouldn't have run the same as Gilly did unofficially
bostic has always looked fast to me
he really stepped his game up this passed yr too him and jenkins got off blocks ALOT better
I think we can expect to see future Gators have success at the NFL combine, thanks to Jeff Dillman and staff. It's incredible.
He didn't play that fast imo.
I used to hate on Bostic because he looked slow and wasn't very aggressive when tackling. Man, he looked like a different player this year. I give credit to him for his hard work and to Champ/Dillman for helping him get there. If the Bucs get him, that'd make me happy.
4.57 on 2nd run
He absolutely smoked Ogletree's time of 4.63.
Yep, beat me to it. Looks like Jenkins and McCray won't run their 40s. I was interested to see Jelani's for sure, especially after Bostic's 4.50.
I really wanted to see Jenkins run too. Wonder why he didn't, is he hurt?
Probably wants to give that foot he broke against Florida State a little more time to heal and himself a little more time to get back in shape and prep for it. I bet he runs it at Florida's pro day on March 20.
Doesn't somebody ITT work at TOS?
I dont think he read plays that well, imo. Probably why he looked slow to getting to the ball at times.
Glad to see him put up good times at the combine.
Ohhh let's doooo it
ooorrrannngeeee and bluuueee it
I had him at a 4.57 in my original guess, we'll see what it comes out to for his official time.
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
ah that makes sense, I figured he was saving it for the pro day
Teo runs a blazing 4.81. There will eventually be an ESPN 30 for 30 about how much his stock dropped. Its almost as if he is doing it on purpose.
To be fair, Bosticc only looked like that the first year he got the start.... prior to that he always looked great coming in to give other guys a breather. Honestly I think the Linebackers struggles two years ago was due to DT play.
Beatings will continue until morale improves
Irvin and others are singing Bostic praises on every drill, I wish they would show him actually doing the drills and stop showing T'eo slide 6 times
Te'o must be a cow out there to run that slowly for someone who's not terribly huge
As an NFL backer you better be fast, if your not fast you better be big, if your not big you better be smart and aggressive, and if all else fails you have reality television. I think I know where hes going
I'm guessing Bostic's official is around a 4.62-4.65. Hand timed 40's are always very generous. That's probably my favorite thing about following high school recruits. Guys always claim that they run a 4.2-4.4. Everyone is a 4.4 40. Then they go to a combine and get lazer timed and they show up at a 4.8. A player on the team that I work with was at the UA Jr Combine and he popped up at a 5.0. He said that every player complained that the lazer timing was off and that they were really faster than that. Sorry guys, not buying it.
