Do you guys have any good books you can recommend . It doesn't matter if it's fiction or non fiction , I'm going to the book store this week .
What's a book?
If you love Bball the Book of basketball is great. Another good on on MJ is When Nothing Else Matters
I recommend the Gospel of John from the bible. Controversial, a quick-read, and free online!
On the fun side, any of the Daniel Silva or Vince Flynn books if you like espionage and assassin stories. On a more intellectual side, some of Milan Kundera's earlier books are awesome, like The Unbearable Lightness of Being or Immortality, or Thomas Mann's Death in Venice. For fantasy, all the Lord of the Rings and all the Harry Potters. I also like most of Kurt Vonnegut's books. For non-fiction history, I'd recommend John Adams or any of Ambrose's books on WWII. For non-fiction intellectual, try Outliers. For non-fiction biography, try the one about Virgin founder Richard Branson.
Gunga galunga...gunga -- gunga galunga
I hear the book titled Frankie Hammond is pretty good
If you like Sci Fi, Enders Game is pretty good. They're making a movie on it right now, Harrison Ford is going to be in it.
If u have not read it and want to understand college football programs, try For The Glory. It is about Penn State and Sanduski is in it so that might change how u would view it. Still it tells the story of one top rated recruiting class as they go through 4/5 years in a program.
What type of books do you like?
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
devil in the white city
gangs of new york
the f*ck up
I'll read anything fascinating . It could be an autobiography or something like the Game of Thrones series.
A couple books I'll get for sure are "Sundown Towns " and Confessions of an Economic Hitman .
What is this book about ?
There is a great autobiography of Vince Lombardi - When Pride Still Mattered. Also for fun quick reads - any murder mystery novels by Kinky Friedman
The series A Song of Fire and Ice is what you are looking for if you like Game of Thrones. Their good but be forewarned they are very involving and many times piss you off.
Or Dark Tower Series
The Old Man and the Sea..... quick read but good...
Beatings will continue until morale improves
it's basically about two things. The guy who designed and built the Chicago World Fare and the guy who staged it to become one of America's notorious serial killers. It's non fiction and goes in to debt about both sides and the process for both men. It's very entertaining and somewhat of a thriller. Hard to put down.
Scar Tissue - autobiography of Anthony Kiedis. I can't imagine a crazier life story. Lost his virginity at age 12 to his dad's girlfriend. Him and Flea would see who could jump off the highest building into the shallowest pool. Up to 10 stories.
Jesse Livermore The Worlds Greatest Stock Trader
In Search of Captain Zero: A Surfer's Road Trip Beyond the End of the Road
All really great reads
currently reading Muck City by bryan Mealer. Great look at Belle Glade Central and the history of that area. It primarily looks at the football program but really gives an excellent background on the creation, problems and poverty in the area.
If you like NYC politics and biographies "The Power Broker" about Robert Moses is fascinating
