He's not set to graduate until December. Could factor into his decision. Says he'll take some time to catch up on school, think about it with family and then decide what to do, per multiple reporters over in Arlington.

Does not have enough of an offensive game to play in the league as of yet. Should have dominated against FGCU Most of the times he is the biggest guy on the court yet he rarely leads team n rebounds. He needs to get better.
Young really needs to develop his rebounding skills and improve his offense badly. Focus on his skills more and less on the weights. Just needs to maintain his build, no need to keep getting bigger.
He gone? To where?? Kid has a good support system, head on str8 from all accounts ...usually doesn't lead to bad advice
Not a single mock has him in first rd except I think chad ford at #29 which with euros/other undergrads likely to declare (think mcgary would go higher if comes out unexpectedly etc) + most other mocks have him late 2nd rder as is
He will benefit greatly from having an elite PG getting him easy buckets next year with Hill/likely helps his draftability and chance of getting a guaranteed 1st rd contract vs this year
I think he's gone. Much better draft class next year and he's only a semester away from graduating. Guys usually don't make a major leap between their junior and senior year. Don't know how much it benefits him coming back. Would love to have him back, though.
He will never have enough of a offensive game. This would be his best chance to get drafted the draft class next year will be insane.
He'd be stupid to leave. He is probably a second rounder. Ironic if he left his first year, he would have been a first rounder due to potential. I have no idea why he isn't as aggressive every game.
Flew out here (Dallas) and his dad was on plane from Jax to ATL and ATL to Dallas with me. He said Pat is definitely coming back.
Why would he be stupid?
Maybe he's not aggressive every game because our guards, and our high post, are not good enough passers. He's wondering, how and when, he will get the ball.
No matter what he does, it will not make much difference to UF next year. He plays soft and can not score at the rim to save his life. Frankly, he needs to do what ever is best for himself which in my opinion is get your degree and think beyond BB.
Good to hear.
Except that now some posters will claim that because they said it on here, it is.
I don't see it man. He just isn't good offensively. He shows potential some games, but then doesn't do it in others. We started this game by feeding him the ball, and we got nothing out of it.
Hopefully he can make some progress next year, but sometimes I think it's motivation. There were GatorZone articles last year about Billy having to go above and beyond to motivate Young. Going as far as to get Tony Dungy to call him and talk to him.

To me, he's not tall enough to play 5 in the NBA. Not sure his hands on offense are quite up to par yet either.
He doesn't have a mid range game to play 4.
I think he could stick in the NBA, but it'd be much easier if he were to develop a jump shot and to spend the entire off season working on free throws.
I think Yeguette needs to do the same thing too.
LOL Pat is not going to leave
Wow are you serious buddy? He doesn't have the best offensive game but he will make money off bb rather its the NBA or cross seas! Which I'm pretty sure is a better living than yours and mines! I think it would help if he played his natural position which is 4 and not 5. Just my opinion tho.
PY has told teammates he is coming back FYI....you add him to Harris Walker and Yeguette and that is a deep, talented, versatile and athletic froncourt....and then you would have Prather and DFS who can play the 4 spot some as well in pressing lineups....just hope PY stays true to what he told teammates and Walker gets into school....
I've been waiting for a couple of years to see PY really develop, and I frustratingly feel like I'm still waiting. The kid should be a moster, but he's still just a role player in most games. McGary owned him today...no excuse for a Frosh to have his way with PY at this stage IMO. Proud we made it to the Elite 8 again. And as negative as most of us must feel right now, I'm really optimistic about next year. With the Hill, Walker coming in and the two transfers. Can't forget Obe backing Hill up (that's an assumption)...I think next year might just be the year we get over the hump and back to the Final 4.
If he goes pro after this season he will be out of the league in less than a year. He is nowhere near ready for the NBA offensively or defensively.
With Harris getting hurt for the season and Larsons walking away from bball. It didn't help Pat in practice develop. Its always good to play everyday against talent in practice. Pat will be back next year.
IMO would be a huge mistake on his part to go now. He's not ready.
His Dad needs to hire Hakeem Olajuwon and then have Patric spend the entire summer working with him in Houston.
I think Hill and more athletic bigs on the floor with him will help him immensely.
For the record, I don't think he's ready for the NBA, but then again it's not like the NBA is full of talented bigs either. However, I just don't agree with calling someone's decision on their path in life stupid as long as they pursue an honest living.
yeah fair enough. Calling it stupid was too much. Still, it seems like he'd be a lot smarter at working on his offensive game, then trying to go now. He basically waited too long to be drafted highly on just potential. And it really didn't seem like he developed much this year. He looked really good last year against Arizona and Kentucky. Not sure if he ever had such a dominant game this year.
