Who do you think we land? It seems like this class is probably one of the deepest ever with LF, sony, dalvin C, elijah hood, the rock, josh y, jalen hurd, BO scab I wouldn't have a problem landing 1 of those guys which I think we do so who do we land
Ill say hurd...and choice or chubb. Preferably choice imo
I prefer hurd, elijah hood or BO and LF(least likely) want that big back and its weird looks like the 6foot and above running backs are back
With a vengeance! I just said in another thread that this is the deepest skill position class I remember, but especially RB. WR's seem pretty deep too though. Just get 2 really good backs and 3 WR's.
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
I would say we get 1 of the studs and then one less heralded complement (a la KT and Lane). Hurd seems like our most likely stud and the second could be anyone
After seeing Elijah hood run I really like his tape and he seems to be rated highly. My Rb board for want and guys we actually have a chance for (No LF)
1. Jalen Hurd
5.Bo(Would be higher but I think he sticks with Bama)
Elijah Hood has long been a favorite of mine, but he's also a very unlikely pull (in spite of our recent NC success). Notre Dame and Clemson are the frontrunners with UNC firmly in the mix as well.
Hurd and Michel seem to be the guys at the top of the pecking order, and while we have a good shot at both, I'm not particularly confident in landing either of them yet.
One guy to keep an eye on is Derrell Scott. We haven't offered as of yet (to my knowledge) but as Athlete Vault has already mentioned, Lawing has deep roots in Havelock. Scott is very similar to Gillislee in terms of size/frame and running style. At this point, Scott is more of a complimentary RB than an every down featured back, but he brings an element of speed and gamebreaking ability that we don't have right now.
I think the RB picture will come into focus more after JR days and the spring eval period as we make an impression on attendees and vice versa with prospects and the staff. We'll get ours though.
Elijah wants to play lb in college.
I hadn't heard that...interesting. Kinda refreshing, actually. I'm not sure he isn't the best RB prospect this cycle, but as a LB, he's what everyone thought Jeff Luc was. Kid is a tremendous physical specimen and a helluva football player.
Do you think we stand more of a chance with him at LB?
I wouldn't think it would make much of a difference either way. If he says he wants to play LB, I can't imagine any of his suitors wouldn't recruit him as a LB. He's an awesome MIKE/ILB prospect, too. In that case, nothing really changes.
I want this guy plain and simple. Hes the best of the bunch in my opinion!
He's changed his mind on that and he was wise to do so.
