I mean... We didn't offer Matthew Thomas so I'm not so sure about what you're saying. He tried to OV and we told him no thanks.
Prolly the same reason we offered Mathew Thomas.....
I'm assuming b/c of his dad and gamecock ties. I imagine they're not pushing too hard for him though. Not b/c you lead but b/c it seems like he's not a priority for us.
Well, I don't know all about his recruitment or what the situation is/was with him. Maybe the staff liked what we already have and had other plans with spots(scholarships ect)? I don't know, I'm just saying that is a weak reason to throw out there. It could be USCe has other plans with different recruits they feel better about taking, like how Muschamp likes certain defensive backs. Just my opinion, I think there is a difference in scheme or just thinking that kid can't play.
Ohhh let's doooo it
ooorrrannngeeee and bluuueee it
We didn offer Denson,Thomas,Kirkland
I feel what you're saying. Just playing devil's advocate. I know where you're coming from. It may seem like Davidson is displaying sour grapes but he may also be telling the truth. I'll take his word for it but only bc he gift wrapped Rolin and Lawing to us.
I'm telling the truth my friend. Not sour grapes at all which is why I stated on my OP that the comment about his not fitting in our scheme (per our co-owner of site/JC is the other owner) was made pre florida being declared his leader. There is a thread on our board from a week or so ago about C. Miller and most fans did not want the kid b/c his dad. Is it a mistake/stupid? I don't know, I'm just passing info from the South Carolina board.
I think it's about targeting other players that fit our scheme vs thinking he's not talented and can't play.
Nah it's cool, I like playing the contrarian part too. It could be exactly what Davidson is saying and that he isnt a big priority. My point is just since when can Carolina be getting nit picky about recruitsLULZ?
We're in 4-2-5 Nickel like 70% of defensive downs.
lol what 3-4 scheme?
dislexia is a bitch 4-3?
I want to take you seriously Davidson but everytime you post over here I just think of that time when you said Rolin was a USCjr lock
Both teams play a ton of nickel, 4 man fronts so I don't get the scheme thing. But I won't argue with you guys. If you don't want him, we'll gladly take him.
Kid looks like a terror edge rusher.

"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
in fairness to me our insider (co-owner or 247 Gamecocks site) was being told that by his contacts (coaches), that Rolin was just visiting and that he told our coaches their is nothing to worry about. Hell, even as of several days after his visit to you guys, he was in Columbia with family (i think he was with family) and had surgery from our team doc. We were led to believe he was still South Carolina bound.
It happens, broseph. You're cool by me.
But remember this when it comes to recruiting. If they are visiting somewhere else, there is always something to worry about. ALWAYS.

I certainly have learned that this year. We've done very well the past few years (prior to this one) holding onto recruits who commit. This year has been a little stressful to say the least.
