Guys, Daz got a HC job after one of the worst years on O ever at UF. Now most thought he would be a better HC than OC.

Would he even want to go to Kentucky? Another year or two of success and he could get a better gig.

I think you're underrating the importance of him staying. We need some continuity on the offensive coaching staff in the worst way. If Pease leaves, that's 4 OC's in 4 years. That is not okay.

Exactly, and what's with all the Pease bashing ITT? We just need talent on the Oline and some playmakers, and we'll start having some fun on offense!

Daz is a great motivator, great recruiter, and a hell of an OLine coach. He was a horrible play caller, but he was great at other things. I believed he'd have success as a HC as long as he was coaching the oline and not calling plays.

The Kentucky job is a bad one right now. Kentucky is basically the worst program in the SEC right now, and although it shouldn't be, it will take a few years to build the personnel. So basically whoever walks in will work with the short end of the stick for 9 out of 12 games, all the SEC contests plus Louisville. Win 7 or 8 games up there, and they'll name a street after you. With the fact that the entire East is better than Kentucky, and probably the entire West as well, it's a tough sell in Lexington, where the football interest, even in good times, is moderate at best.

That being said, if I was the Kentucky AD, I'd hire Bobby Petrino tomorrow. He's a proven winner, a terrific offensive coach, and will excite the fan base. Go to Cat's Pause, our Kentucky site on 247, and check out the pictures from yesterday's game, with the stands less than half filled. Yes Petrino has some baggage, but it's not NCAA sanction-type baggage, it's just the fact that as a human being, he's made some highly questionable decisions. But I've yet to see a major football program hire, or not hire, a head coach because he may be a bad guy or a jerk or both. Believe me, there's a lot of football coaches who lean toward the jerk (I meant pompous jerk) designation. With Calipari already there, they obviously don't care much about pr type stuff in Lexington. Any ill will the school receives for hiring Petrino will evaporate in time, he knows the SEC and it would chap the folks in Louisville, which is always a plus to the Blue faithful.
