You have no favorite boards.
I understand the QB stats comparison between Brantley and Driskel, but We won 4 more games under Pease. He deserves credit for that much.
We were definitely out-coached by a less talented team, but we ended the season 11-2 when many critics had us finishing 6-6 or 7-5.
Losing Sharif and Elam will hurt us, but the future looks bright in Florida. Go Gators!
D...if you attribute our offense to Pease which I believe has too much Champ involvement.
It looks to me like grade inflation has taken over our board. Several posters have noted improvement over a poor year last year which I would have rated an "F". We ranked in the bottom 20% with top 20% of the offensive athletes in the nation and are doing less with more offensive talent than any team in the nation. We keep saying we need this or need this position or that position for the last several years. How many teams would kill to have two top 10 sophomore quarterbacks out of HS on their team with one of the top tight ends and a bunch of 4 star receivers and one 5 star who we never used.
My opinion is we have our QB so restrained in "managing" the conservative philosophy of our head coach that he is reluctant to let the ball go at times or is late in doing so. Yes we won the TO battle this year, which is a great thing and certainly attributed to our excellent won/loss record but we need an offense which does not rely on defense and turnovers to win games...especially against less talented opponents.
With our great defense, I believe we should expect an offense that can produce yards and points in the middle of D/1 schools and I will be happy to give Pease the "A" or "B" grade he should recieve.
