Anybody here been to a College Gameday show in person?

  • I'm going to the A&M game this weekend and I am trying to decide if its worth making the drive out there for the show. Obviously its going to be packed by the time we got there we would probably be in the far back.

Has anybody here been to the show? It looks like they have TV's next to the stage so you can watch the show, I assume they have speakers so you can hear, are the speaker's pretty loud?

I live on the west coast, so this is probably one of the few if only chances ill ever get to see College Gameday covering a Florida game.

Trying to decide if its worth getting up really early and driving out there for it. We're staying in Dallas so it would be very bright and early day for us.

  • There was talk last year if you get a 247Sports sign on Gameday you get a lifetime sub to 247Sports for free. I wonder if that is still the case. Something to look into if you are going....

247 sports sign? Pfft id rather Photoshop Thomas kissing Justin Bieber or something, now that would be worthy of a life time subscription.

We're staying about 3 to 3 1/2 hours out of college station, considering that the show starts at 9 am cst, there's no way in hell i would get a sign on TV lol

  • Been to many at a number of locations.

The only time you will hear anything is when the crowd is basically silent. It won't be like watching in TV.

Plan on getting there extremely early if you want a chance to be near the front.

Make a creative sign and attach it to a stick so you can hold it high. If it's dirty or anti ESPN it will be confiscated.

If you stand out as an opposition you have a great chance of being on TV or even escorted up front for TV purposes.

I would take sign suggestions here, let us know what you decide so we can look for it.

    Certainly worth checking it out.

  • Yep - been to one at The Swamp. Unless you get there early, forget about getting a good spot. It's fun to see though.

  • Alright, i doubt were going we would have to get up way too early for the show and probably wouldn't get a good spot.

But is something we'll consider, i don't think we would be making a sign though lol

  • Look for the Washington State Flags. They have been at every College Game Day for years no matter the location.

There really monitor the signs, here is why:

  • Hi all, you may have seen in the pinned post, but here's some logistical info about GameDay that TAMU wanted to share with GatorBait fans:

"Texas A&M's historic Simpson Drill Field will be the site of ESPN College GameDay this Saturday. The site will give ESPN's national television audience a scenic view of The Zone at Kyle Field, overlooking the newly renovated Memorial Student Center located on main campus. Additional information regarding GameDay set up and logistics will be available as the week progresses at this link: http://tx.ag/flgameday"
