Team just jacked back-to-back-to-back-to-back homers against FAMU. That's four in a row. This team wasn't supposed to have as much power as last year's team. Guess what? It sure seems like it does.
In 21 full games and the first inning of the 22nd, the Gators have jacked 29 bombs (1.32 per game).
Last year's team hit 68 in 61 games (1.11 per game).
Very impressive. Team is currently up 7-0 on FAMU and looks like it'll cruise to 21-1 this afternoon.

Coach Walton can really coach hitting. I remember last year when one of the pros that was the commentator on an ESPN broadcast said she took BP while she was in Gainesville to work with Walton. The guy is a great Gator coach.
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
I know this might be a stupid question, but do they ever throw at hitters (in softball) in a situation like this. Being a former baseball player, I'll never forget the feeling I had one time when the two guys in front of me hit one out. Talk about being on your heels that first pitch!
Not sure Dahlonega, softball's one of the few sports I haven't spent much time covering in person while I've been in Gainesville.
To update, the team knocked out eight homers in the second game today, so make it 33 homers in the first 22 games (1.5 per game). That's absurd.
22-1 by a combined score of 180-36....Bring on the SEC
