After a day of delayed decisions, the Florida Gators were able to win out in the Jarran Reed sweepstakes.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound four-star defensive tackle from East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss. pick the Gators over the Alabama Crimson Tide. Reed was a one-time Ole Miss commit, but after visits to Tuscaloosa the past two weekends he backed off that pledge. It was after those consecutive visits that many believed Alabama was his destination.
Reed was set to fax in his national letter of intent early Wednesday morning, but pushed it back to the afternoon after wrangling with his decision for much of the day.
He has only visited once, the weekend of January 11, for his official visit.
247Sports ranks Reed as the nation’s No. 17 junior college prospect.
