Recruiting Recap: December 2

Miami continues to push hard for one-time RB commit Alex Collins, but Florida is making a late run for the five-star back.

With 65 days until National Signing Day, GatorBait.net recaps some of today's recruiting rumblings as it pertains to the Florida Gators.

***South Plantation (Fla.) running back Alex Collins received a visit from Florida running back coach Brian White at his school this past Wednesday. Florida, as well as Miami and Florida State will see see him during the second week of the contact period as well. Details on the visits to see Collins can be found HERE.

***Immokalee (Fla.) cornerback Mackensie Alexander has been a tough prospect to glean much recruiting information from throughout the whole process. Since the start of the contact period he has gone further underground letting very little information out regarding his recruitment. Florida is one school that visited him last week with more coming this week. Details on upcoming his visitors and what sources say is the current school to beat can be found HERE.

***Avon (Ind.) defensive end Elijah Daniel has long been a prospect on Florida's radar, even during his commitment to Clemson. Now that he has backed off that pledge, Florida has some competition for the four-star prospect. ***Briar Woods (Va.) linebacker and current South Carolina commit Matt Rolin made a surprise official visit to Florida this past weekend. While the trip seems like a last minute plan, the Gators have been working this prospect for some time now.
