Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) standout wide receiver and Florida Gator commit Alvin Bailey was formally invited to participate in the Under Armour All-American game Tuesday morning during a jersey presentation. Bailey is one of a select few invited to take part in the prestigious game held January 4, 2013.
Florida Gator wide receiver commit Alvin Bailey dons his Under Armour All-American jersey.
“It feels good to show that you belong with the top athletes,” Bailey said of being invited to the game. “There are thousands of players playing high school football and it shows how far I've come to be selected to play in the Under Armour game."
One of the unique aspects of this all-American game for Bailey is the fact it will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, just a short drive across the bay from his home.
“Everyone can drive right over the bridge and see me play, my mom will be there, it will be great."
The game, as you would expect, will feature many of the nation’s top prospects. The competition level will certainly take large step up compared to what Bailey faces every Friday night, but that is no concern to him.
"Competing is competing no matter who you go against, you got to go hard every single play."
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Bailey will also being playing in the game with a familiar face, Armwood teammate Leon McQuay III.
"It's going to be great, we're like brothers and we've been playing alongside each other for a long time."
Bailey, the nation’s No. 210 prospect overall according to 247Sports, committed to the Florida Gators September 1 of this year.
